Trifecta of Wine, Food & Music — La Casa Narcisi Winery, Gibsonia — Saturday, May 30

Ever wonder how the grapes get crushed and turned to wine? Could it really be like we saw on I Love Lucy? What’s with the five S’s of wine tasting? Are they actually helpful or is it just a way to show off? Find out by joining your CAC friends for a tour at La Casa Narcisi Winery. We will begin with a visit to the vineyards and then move to the wine production area where Narcisi staff will explain how they crush, press, ferment, filter, and bottle – the whole wine making process from start to finish. The tour concludes with a private tasting in dining room, which explores five of Narcisi’s most dynamic wines – the grapes, the overall characteristics and the aromatics of the wine. During the tasting we will learn how to swirl, smell and sip …

Following our tour and tasting, we will enjoy lunch at La Vite Ristorante, which features rustic Italian cuisine including light appetizers, pizzas, salads and hearty pastas. The tasting will leave you equipped to choose the right wine to pair with your menu selection. (Lunch not included in price of tour.)

If you’d like to sit back, relax and let your food settle after lunch, there’s no place better than Narcisi’s outdoor concert / picnic area. The free concert that day features Good Brother Earl, a local band with a distinctive sound formed by a collection of rock, blues, country and pop influences. The band plays from 2-5pm, with a few wine-sipping breaks. We will meet after lunch in the outside picnic area near the stage. If you’re coming just for the concert, look for a bright helium balloon to help you spot your CAC friends. Please bring your own chair, food and beverages. NOTE: No alcoholic beverages are permitted except for Narcisi wines, and the staff does check.

Act quickly! Reservations required by May 1 for the tour, but spots are limited and may sell out prior to that date. Reservations for lunch only are due May 23. See the Calendar entry for signing up for this event.
