Our co-ed softball and tennis leagues play from April to August.  Due to players moving out of town, changes in work schedules, etc., we're always looking for replacements. We play softball every Sunday at Blawnox Park behind the gas station off Exit 9 of Route 28, and play tennis every Monday or Tuesday in Brookline Park on Pioneer Avenue near the Liberty Tunnels. Players of all abilities are welcome. Applications can be found at the Softball page and Tennis page.

If you're interested in joining either league, please contact us.

And spectators are always welcome.

Time is running out to sign up for two CACI vacation opportunities.

The 2016 Spring Midwest Regional Weekend will take place in Springfield, Illinois on May 27-30. Illinois is the land of Lincoln and we will be staying at the Hilton Springfield that is located downtown, just minutes from many historic attractions and landmarks, including the world class Lincoln Presidential Museum, the Lincoln Home site and the old State Capital. The Illinois State Museum is also nearby.

The 2016 CACI Convention/Vacation will be July 17-23 in Billings, Montana which is the county seat of Yellowstone County. We will stay at the Crowne Plaza in the downtown area. Some of the many things to do are:
  • Rimrocks Park
  • Little Bighorn National Park (Custer’s last Stand) and Pompey’s Pillar National Monument
  • Pictograph Cave State Park
  • Moss Mansion
  • Beartooth Highway Scenic Drive
  • Chief Plenty Coups Museum
  • Yellowstone National Park Day trip
  • Devils tower Day trip
  • Western Chuckwagon Steak Dinner and Covered Wagon Ride

A subsequent weekend gathering, the 2016 CACI Midwest/East Fall Regional Weekend will be held in Pittsburgh October 7-9, 2016 at the Double Tree by Hilton Pittsburgh Green Tree.

Dining Out – Lenten Style

posted Feb 22, 2016, 7:52 PM by John Hredzak   [ updated Feb 22, 2016, 7:56 PM ]

Instead of a restaurant outing this month, we’ve decided to try a couple of the many fine fish fries offered in the Pittsburgh Diocese. We hope you can attend one or both. Consider joining us for Stations of the Cross after dinner, too. If you have any questions, or would like to let us know that you are coming so we know to look for you, please contact us. We’ll be glad to have you join us.

Looking to try a new fish fry every week? If you didn’t catch the 2016 Fish Fry supplement to the Pittsburgh Catholic, or forgot to save it, it can be accessed here: http://www.pittsburghcatholic.org/-Fish-Fries-.

Summer Sports League Winners

posted Oct 5, 2015, 2:17 PM by John Hredzak   [ updated Dec 6, 2016, 12:36 AM by John Hredzak ]

Another successful summer of CAC softball and tennis has come to a close. Here are the results:

In softball, Baja Bar & Grille #1 (light blue shirts) coached by Victor Gallik and Kevin McKeever ended in first place for the season. However, in the playoffs, Baja Bar & Grille #2 (dark blue shirts) coached by Dev Kumar beat the Pittsburgh team (green shirts) coached by Don Mikec in the championship game.

In tennis, the Red team, coached by Pam Lawrence, won first place for the season and also beat the blue team coached by Gary Urbatis for the championship game.

The summer is over but there are no losers when you get out in the sun for some fun. Looking forward to seeing you on the field or court next year!
